* Halverson Canada Lake Summer Home

Built in the Summer of 1893 by Julius Breckwoldt, this is one of the first two camps on Dolgeville Point, on Canada Lake - then called Auskerada Lake - owned by felt manufacturer Alfred Dolge.

Accessed via 5 minute boat ride from a boathouse dock (with parking for 4 cars) at the end of Point Breeze Road on Route 29A, between Pine Lake and Caroga Lake. A modern "party barge" boat is included in the rental, along with a canoe and small sailboat.

The camp is two floors, with a large covered front porch and a screened-in side porch. Included is a spacious parlor with fireplace, dining room (seats twelve), modern kitchen and an adjoining sitting room with separate heating facilities. There is a full bathroom with tub and shower on the first floor, a partial bathroom with toilet and sink on the second floor, and four bedrooms with full-sized beds.

The entire camp is wainscoted, fully furnished with family antiques, and professionally cleaned before your arrival. The kitchen and refrigerator are stocked with several days of food, the boat is fully fueled, and the beds are made with clean sheets. Weekly cost is $1,100 and a $200 deposit is required for reservations. More photos follow.
